Located near Raleigh, North Carolina, Southern Tribute Farms is a dedicated Australian Shepherd breeder focused on preserving and enhancing the foundation of this remarkable breed. Our mission is to produce Aussies with outstanding temperament, health, and structure—dogs who are versatile enough to excel in work or sport, yet grounded enough to be loving, dependable companions at home.
Australian Shepherds are intelligent, energetic, and deeply loyal, with a natural instinct to think, problem-solve, and bond closely with their people. True to their heritage, they thrive when given a purpose—whether on the farm, in performance, or as an active family partner. We believe correct structure and soundness of mind are essential, not only for longevity but also for the ability to meet the demands of both work and play.
While Aussies are far from being couch potatoes and require meaningful physical and mental engagement, we place equal importance on balance: a well-bred Australian Shepherd should have the stability and clarity to relax peacefully when the day’s work is done. At Southern Tribute Farms, our goal is to preserve this harmony—producing dogs that can seamlessly transition between drive and calm, instinct and companionship.
Meet the Breeders and our “Tribute”
Hi! We’re Logan and Grace, the team behind Southern Tribute Farms. Our lives have always been centered around animals, training, and the outdoors, and it’s those passions that eventually led us to Australian Shepherds and the breeding program we run today.
Grace grew up immersed in agriculture and animal care, spending summers involved in 4-H, where she showed dairy cows and competed with horses. Those early years taught her not only the fundamentals of animal husbandry but also the responsibility and dedication it takes to raise animals well. That foundation grew into a lifelong love of learning, training, and working with purebred dogs.
Logan’s path began a little differently. He grew up training German Shepherds for search and rescue, with his father. From an early age, Logan learned the discipline, precision, and teamwork required to develop dogs for real-world jobs. That experience instilled in him both respect for proper training and an appreciation for the intelligence and drive that working breeds carry.
Together, we’ve built a life on our small homestead, where we raise our four Australian Shepherds alongside our various farm animals. We’re both passionate about animal education, proper husbandry, and spending as much time outdoors as possible, whether working, training, or simply enjoying life with our animals.
The name behind Southern Tribute carries personal meaning. Tucker, Grace’s first and beloved family dog, inspired it after his life was tragically shortened by end-stage congestive heart failure. Tucker’s story became the driving force behind our commitment to thorough health testing and intentional breeding. By honoring his memory, we strive to ensure that every Southern Tribute Farms puppy has the best chance at a long, healthy, and fulfilling life.
Southern Tribute Farms began with our first Australian Shepherd, Benelli. While she wasn’t bred for stockwork, she embodied everything that makes Aussies such cherished companions—intelligent, loyal, and deeply connected to her people. She was the spark that grew into a passion for the breed and a vision for raising dogs who honor the Australian Shepherd’s heritage.
Over time, that vision evolved into a program dedicated to producing Aussies with the right balance of temperament, health, structure, and working ability. We believe the ideal Australian Shepherd is one who can excel with purpose—whether in stockwork, sport, or other activities—yet also settle peacefully at home as a devoted family companion. This balance of drive and stability is at the heart of everything we do.
